We offer sedation options for our patients who have anxiety about their next appointment. Contact the dentists at Hollinger Dental in Timmins to see if sedation is for you.
Our Sedation Options
IV Sedation
Sedation administered through IV is an option for patients to feel at ease during their dental procedures. It allows them to relax while their dentistry is performed.
While sedated, you’re able to respond to verbal commands but will be in a relaxed state. A local anesthetic is also used to ensure your comfort.
Oral Sedation
You may also be interested in oral sedation as an option to keep you calm during your dental procedure. Oral sedation involves a prescribed pill when before, or when you arrive for your appointment.
The oral medication will cause you to be drowsy. We ask that you arrange for someone to drive you to home afterwards.
Nitrous Oxide
Nitrous Oxide is also known as “laughing gas”. After you take your first few breaths, you will feel calmer.
Nitrous Oxide is a good option for patients who feel apprehensive about their dental appointment.
Patients are safe to drive themselves home after this sedation option is administered.
General Anesthsia
We also offer general anesthesia in a controlled environment. Please contact our office to learn more about general anesthesia.

- You are undergoing a long or complex procedure
- Dental appointments are very stressful for you
- You require a surgical procedure such as wisdom tooth removal
